Alexander in Asia: The Hellenistic East beyond the Mediterranean Alexander's conquests transformed the ancient world, but what happened after the armies moved on? This course explores the Hellenistic kingdoms of Western and Central Asia through archaeology, art, and material culture, examining how Greek, Iranian, and local traditions interacted to create new societies from Mesopotamia to Afghanistan. Moving beyond the familiar story of military conquest, students will discover the everyday lives, cities, religions, and identities that emerged in one of history's most dynamic cultural frontiers. Both courses are designed for a general audience with no prior background in archaeology or ancient history. They combine recent archaeological discoveries with historical and artistic evidence to offer an engaging and accessible introduction to the ancient cultures of the Iranian world and the Silk Roads. * The course starts during the first week of October and concludes in the second week of December, spanning 10 weeks (10 sessions). The exact days and times will be scheduled based on the availability of both the instructor and the learners. * Once learners enroll, Silk Road Academy will coordinate the class schedule, process payments, and manage administrative details. * Silk Road Academy can issue invoices so learners can request reimbursement from their affiliated universities or institutions. * Class days and times may be adjusted in accordance with the request of enrollees. * Registered participants will receive full access to recorded session videos and all course materials.
