Introduction to Indonesian Language

Service Description

This course was designed for learners who have no knowledge of Indonesian language. At the start of the semester, we will learn the very beginnings about what is Indonesian language and then about how to read and pronounce Indonesian words. Later on, we will progress with the most basic grammar and simple dialogues. At the end of the course the students will be able to introduce themselves, talk about their family, their habits, their studies and work. They will also be able to ask questions about the aforementioned topics, thus they will be capable of having basic conversations. During the classes we will also talk about the cultural setting of Indonesian and the rules of politeness in the language. Sessions: 1. About the language, pronunciation 2. Greet people, introduce yourself and others, say where you come from 3. Use less formal yes/no questions, show possession 4. Express nationalities and languages, ask basic questions 5. Give information about yourself and ask about other people 6. Talk about your job and ask about what other people do, express your capabilities 7. Talk about education and study 8. Say the numbers 1 to 10 9. Talk about members of your family 10. Express where things are in your house Dr. Áron Laki is a Hungarian scholar and lecturer at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) specializing in Arabic, Islamic, and Southeast Asian studies. He holds multiple degrees, including a PhD in Javanese Islam, and focuses his research and teaching on Middle Eastern culture, Asian religions, and Indonesian traditions. * The course starts during the first week of October and concludes in the second week of December, spanning 10 weeks (10 sessions). The exact days and times will be scheduled based on the availability of both the instructor and the learners. * Once learners enroll, Silk Road Academy will coordinate the class schedule, process payments, and manage administrative details. * Silk Road Academy can issue invoices so learners can request reimbursement from their affiliated universities or institutions. * Class days and times may be adjusted in accordance with the request of enrollees. * Registered participants will receive full access to recorded session videos and all course materials.
